the Commissioners of the Port of Tillamook Bay have determined that the line will NOT be reopened and that the FEMA monies will be spent elsewhere on Port improvements.

While I am emotionally disappointed, logic is on the side of the Commissioners as they don't have much if any support from the shippers on the Tillamook end for spending the required match on the work required for the reopening.

Rick Franklyn Corp. was spotted on February 9th trucking two boxcars east on Highway 6 from Tillamook, thus returning them to rails somewhere around Banks, Oregon. How many other rail cars that will get trucked back to rails will be interesting to watch. It appears that Rick was using the area around the old Tillamook depot for loading the boxcars onto trucks.

I think we all need to adjust to the fact that the Port of Tillamook Bay Railroad doesn't include service between Tillamook to Banks.
