I don't believe much is scrapped in McMinnville (having lived in Mac for 13 years, but I believe that they did scrap a few W&P cars a few years ago onsite), but Schnitzer Steel (the parent of Cascade Steel) does have a very large scrapping operation at Rivergate Terminal 4. A lot of the BN B30-7Bs were scrapped up there. Some of the scrap steel then gets trucked to McMinnville for melting down into rebar; and Schnitzer also sells the other scrap to worldwide customers.
But none of the scrap that goes to McMinnville is going to end up as a Toyota or Honda...at least not in the next reincarnation. Maybe your next condo home...
If the cars were headed to McMinnville...they wouldn't be on I-5 north, it's Oregon 6 to Banks, south on 47, turn right on 99W, cross over the Yamhill River and take the first left onto Riverside Drive, and I believe it's about the third or fourth driveway on the right. On the other hand...on I-5 north would be an odd routing unless the truck was prohibited from using the Vista Ridge Tunnel.
