There are more than a few (check view of the yard in Google Maps/satellite view) and they've been there for much more than 2 years. More like 10+.

Question was asked about them at one of the "Manager's Chats" several months ago. They were apparently cheap but need substantial rebuilding to be be useful considering that VTA dumped them due to various problems and they've been sitting around for a l.o.n.g time. Hope RT got a Good Deal on them (like nearly free) to make the rebuild cost pencil out - though the fact that nothing's happened for so long suggests otherwise (need Free Money aka stimulus$$ to make it pencil?). Compatibility with current equipment is a dream that probably won't get real. And with service cutbacks coming they won't be needing additional cars anytime soon.

Utah also got a bunch when VTA shed their startup fleet - it was cheaper to rebuild the VTA stuff than to buy all-new at the time. Not sure if any are still in service.
