Perhaps the units shown in your tape had the Gyralight locked on forward, or perhaps the motor was broken. When DRG&W Units were used as lead units on Tehachapi, the Espee engineers knew how to use the Gyralights. The difference in light patterns was very noticeable. Also,the engineers on the Rio Grande Zephyr F - Unit had the Gyralight in the moving position.
