Can you please post a link with research showing that environmentalists have a propensity to live in larger homes than those who are indifferent or hostile towards environmental concerns?

I think the opposite is true - Environmentalist attitudes are very strong in cities where homes and apartments are much smaller than those in suburban and rural areas.

New York City (Manhattan in particular) is considered the "greenest" city in the United States because people live in such small units and so close to each other, that they consume the least energy per capita and emit the lowest amount of pollution per capita. They are also far less dependent on automobiles for their basic mobility needs than people who live in other places in the US.

If you are referring to Al Gore's house, well Al Gore is Al Gore. He is not the entire environmental community. I'm surprised that its necessary to explain this.
