One prospect of the sale may actually evolve into a money maker as far as the St Maries River Railroad goes. As many of you know WATCO has jumped with both feet into the car repair industry and has opened up several of these repair facilities across the country.

The shop in St Maries is a first class facility and could easily be utilized for this kind of operation.

I am at least glad to hear that Mike Williams has hopes for options other than, and in addition to, hauling Potlatch timber products from the mill in St Maries to Plummer. I certainly wish him well.

The only hold back to a major car repair facility would be the fact that it would have to rely on the Union Pacific and its branch line to get the repairs in and out of St Maries (Plummer). Their potential operations were really restricted when the BN (old WI&M) line out of Bovill washed out in the mid 90's, severing their options of using either of two majors carriers.....but that is water under, over and through the bridge!
Regards,
Rolland Meyers
