The Interstate at Wallace I-90 was opened in September of 1991 and the UP last train from Mullan back to Spokane(through the valley) was in late October of 1992. So just a little over one year. About the same thing happened in a number of places in Montana when the Milwaukee pulled out of the west in 1980.

By the way my uncle was the principal at Kingston High School until it closed in 1955 due to consolidation; as well as the football and basketball coach...
