Caught those same two units at work in Stockton CA back in July 2007. Don't know who they were working/demoing for (BNSF?), but I though it was a cool catch at the time. I like the GE fuel tank and trucks - differen from a lot of gensets built on old GP running gear.

Seems to me it wouldn't be that difficult to cram all the internals from one of these gensets into the carbody of an old Alco RS-2 or RS-3. Then you would make the environmntalists and RR accountants happy, and the railfans wouldn't mind as much. Of course, the actual railroaders might not be too thrilled, but they exist only to make the other three groups happy, right . . . ?
