Two engines from that operation are still around, one (2-8-0 #25) in Flagstaff east of the Amtrak station, and the other (2-6-6-2 #12) northwest of town along the road to the Grand Canyon.
I was around the day BNSF pulled #25 from the south side of the Amtrak station, then down the transcon a mile or two, through some crossovers and then back to be on the east side of the station. Watching the rods go up and down of a small steam engine on the transcon in the late 1990's was a sight, even with a BN green GP doing the work. . .
John - I bet the Flagstaff folks that tend to #2 these days would like a copy of your picture for their visitor center. They don't have much in color and your image is excellent.
