Around 1953-54 the Thunderbird Model Railroad Club (Phoenix) participated in a trip on this railroad in conjuction with another group who I cannot remember. We rode down to Happy Jack on a flat car with sides and benches with one of the 2-6-6-2 (I think they were a tank engine) an a about dozen log cars (empty). If I remember correctly we brought back loaded log cars to Flagstaff. I have some Kodachrome slides that hopefully have aged well of that trip. I will locate them and see if they still are usable. I have not looked at them for about thirty years.
