The #590 was out-shopped by MotivePower a few weeks ago. It is an MP14B-3 genset locomotive, using two 700 HP Cummins (one in each power module), while the third "dummy" module is merely ballasted and contains no internal components. The design will allow the addition of a third engine in the dummy module location if more horsepower is desired.
The only rebuilt/reused components on the locomotive are the trucks and traction motors. The frame, fuel tank, cab, and power modules are all newly constructed.
This is the third MPI genset so far, with the others being GATX #700 and the MPI demonstrator #244.
Hope that helps.
