There is no rail service but there is an alternative to the bus--planes! Southwest flies to ABQ and to El Paso from Dallas and other cities, and betwix the two. My suggestion is to head to El Paso and pick up the Limited. Or, maybe fly to Tucson/Phoenix and ride the other way via Deming.
