The Roy Campanella one comes as a complete surprise to me.

I went to his baseball camp in NJ back in 1971. He was one of the kindest and most open persons I have ever met, let alone among baseball greats.

He in fact took me aside to personally teach me how to throw a baseball (with the help of his nurse, who picked up on the instruction far faster than I - the idiot child - did).

Had no idea I shared an interest in trains with him too.
