I want to thank Grant and others who were able to correct and add to this thread. As to the
date of 4211 running as a helper East to Altamont, I am certain of that as I have a series
of grey back Kodakromes from the late John Hungerford who followed the move and they are
all dated on the mount. The move to Roseville had been verbally passed along over the years
and I acknowledge how these sometimes are not wholly accurate. Again, thanks here and also
with the commute info too. I got fooled some years back while reading the timebooks of
a Coast Division engineman named Johnson. It showed some entries in the early 50's of
Train 132 using GS types for power. 132 for a long time was the branch train that ran
by Los Altos, but not then. Here I thought that 4-8-4's had been running right past our
house by Loyola, but not so.
