I ran #5, renumbered to 555 while she was operating in limited excursion service in Galveston, Texas at the Railroad Museum.She also made it over to Rosenberg,Texas for an exhibition. Om the way back from Rosenberg,one of the tender journals ran hot,but we nursed her back home. I also had the opportunity to see what she would do on a grain train while we had her fired up doing some switching in the Museum yard. I got her to pull 55 loads from grain from the ATSF yards to the Port of Galveston yard with not so much as a slip! She's a great pulling machine. While at Texas state Railroad I also fired and ran #7(400). She's no where nea as powerful as the 5,but she is faster off the mark and really is the best engine for TSRR's profile. she is currently undergoing 15 year inspection work and might be back in service next year.If I knew how to insert an image here,I would from her Galveston service.
