Hello from Martha's Vineyard,

We're truly enjoying our vacation here, Barack and I, but he really misses his home country. Oops, I did actually say that out loud, that Kenya is Barack's home country, it's all over the Internet and thank god the media leaves it alone.

Well, I'm posting here today to clear up the confusion, all the original poster did was to point out that my husband and the guy in Italy are both ashamed to be Americans, and he had it right.

In another quote that most media ignored, I did say, "for the first time in my life I'm proud of my country." You can logically conclude that until my husband ran for President I was ashamed of my country -- so it shouldn't be any surprise that the guy in Italy and my husband are both ashamed to be connected with America.

And really, we thought the apology tour last year would make people love us, but Iran keeps on misbehaving. Well, cozying up with Chavez didn't lessen his rhetoric either. I hope you can all get along, but make no mistake, most of us liberals ARE NOT proud of our racist country. We all agree with Rev. Wright, we just can't admit it so often publicly. Bad for the image....
