And as a follow-up to this, here is an article in today's news about a teen being killed why "tagging" a building. Here is one of the quotes from the article:

“According to the conductor, he observed the three on the tracks, he applied his emergency brakes and blew his horn,” police said. “He was traveling at approximately 50 mph when he observed the three.”

I'm not sure why so many news media folks think that the Conductor drives the train. Isn't it "news 101" to ask WHO did WHAT? (and this was an Amtrak train, not a freight train, thus, no Conductor up front.)
