You guys talk like you want them to leave. Forget it-- they aren't going anywhere !!
First of all, think about this:
1. What transit outfit wants to go running up that twisty canyon at reduced speed ?

2. The original posters quote from some "report" suggests they could run from the town of NILES
out to CP HEARST to connect with the UPRR--- yeah, right !
What would THAT little hop, skip and jump buy them ? Let's hear from a bonafied PLA member on this subject...
