Brian,
Can't comment on the O&NW tunnel. When I was through the Silvies area in
2006 I sure didn't see anything that looked like a public road to Trout Creek.
As for the water tank, I can't be sure it would be visible from the highway, but
if it is still there I didn't see it.
I've driven the road between Crane and Riverside. There are a few bridges
left to see. It looks like the road is fine between Riverside and Juntura, I
turned back since it didn't appear that there was any road access to the old
ROW anymore. The old tunnel just east of Juntura is easily accessible but it
has been mostly filled in. The tunnel near Namorf has also been filled in plus
it's on the wrong side of the river.
Hope this helps a little. I'd be curious to hear how you do, especially
if you find some access between Riverside and Juntura. Have a good trip.
