New GE Passenger Locomotives

In an intersting twist MotivePower of Boise has contracted with GE to provide diesel engines and various control systems for 20 new commuter locomotives for MBTA. The article does not mention GE supplying carbodies so we can assume the locomotives will be similar in apearance to units in service on a number of commuter roads in the US and Canada. MotivePower has long been a user of EMD products dating back to the 1970's so this represents a shift in direction for the former Morrison Knudsen division.
