I also enjoyed the movie. I, too, noticed the light error. A few other things I found peculiar. Keeping in mind that this is a runaway carrying toxics, could derail at any moment, will be derailed using the portable derailers, and has the destructive power to take out everything within a 25-40 mile radius.
No matter what, I did enjoy it, it did keep you on the edge.
Soap box on!
One, if I was a state trooper, or other emergency personnel, I would not be standing within 100' from the planned derailment site. And probably would not park my cruiser within 5-10 feet from the tracks. (Scene at the attempted forced derailment)
Two, in most scenes with the NEWS helos, they are literally on top of the train, and each other for that matter.
Three, the evacuation routes were always around the main line, wouldn't you want to be away from the main line where the Chrysler building size missile is coming? Many of the scenes also took place around level crossings with reporters and civis hanging around, I guess it added to the drama.
Four, when triple 7 takes out the last car on 1206, I wonder what kind of steel that car was made of, Pittsburgh paper mache? It does make for a spectacular scene.
Five, so what's with the emphasis on "going backwards" when you only have the diesel unit? Am I missing something?
Six, 777 is traveling at 60/70+ mph, 1206 can only go 55+, yet it catches up. Hummm!
Seven, I always wanted to shoot at a train engine, from 10 feet away. Ricochet anyone? Fuel tank.
