This was such a cool branch... I remember in "Hangtown" (Placerville) SP had built a relatively modern (1950's?) station and I remember seeing lights on and maybe even an agent on duty until sometime in the 60's. Above Placerville the line got really interesting, zig-zagging back and forth across Highway 50 to serve the Camino mill.

Does anyone have photos, or timelines and history of the upper portion of this SP branch and/or CP<RR or can someone recommend a website, book, or other source of information?
