Ok, since I can't post a marked-up photo,
About a train-width to the viewer's right of the locomotive is a somewhat dotted straight line, parallel to the rails. That represents the upper right side of of the ghost loco.
That line ends near a line of show on tree branches that curves toward your right in an arc that approximates the curve of the front right side of a locomotive roof.
About a locomotive-window-height below that curved line is an approximately parallel line that is the top front edge of the ghost locomotive's hood.
The snow in the branches below that represents various loco-front hardware.
BTW--I'm viewing the image on a 15-inch-diagonal CRT, from about 31 inches away. The photo image width is nine inches.
