I definitely agree with Tom on the hazards of that cliff. That's why I've only shot it when there's a goodly amount of snow. First, snow actually gives you footing up there, and second, if you do slip, the snow breaks your fall. Don't try and haul a bunch of stuff up there...keep it simple...camera around your neck and that's about it. I would definitely advise NOT to try and paddle around up there with snow shoes, too awkward and there's just no room.
Finally, I haven't been up there in a number of years. My shots were taken back in the days the White Pine road wasn't plowed so I had to hike in from Merritt. The point being, I'm not sure about those "little" trees you see in Steve's shot. They might be blocking some of the view I had back in the day.
Give it a try, but make sure you feel stable. If not, just have Tom show you his stuff...it'll be in color!
