If You go on Route 66 just above Valentine, Arizona, there is a place called Keepers Of The Wild. Just across from it is a perminate speed board. Wrapped around that post is what is left of a piece of banding that was dragging, wrapped itself and pulled itself from the flatcar. That vision alone should give You all and idea of how far out a band can hang and also the destructive force of anything in it's path.
