They just call them plows today on the diesels. So big f-ing deal. Those projections on the front end of the locos originated as cow catchers and when we got out of the cow days the projections on the front of the locos were called "plows"---so big deal Yes, I am really old. But whatever the projection on the front of the loco is used to be a cowcatcher and now it is called a "plow"--besides snow, that they are they possibly "plowing" up???? Oh, and just for the record, when my husband was farming in Coyote 15 years ago they used to have to nudge goats off the tracks and in {Pajaro they had to deal with cows every now and then-------------they used term "the cowcatcher". Obviously, you are really young. :-)
