I'm obviously late on this one......but the Barnes and Noble is closing??? Well crap, that really doesn't leave much left. Most of the restaurants pulled out a few years ago, and they were supposed to return after the "redevelopment"---but I haven't seen a single one return. There is only one nice restaurant at JLS that I can know of, but the name escapes me right now. Italian food, sort of higher-end dining, right there looking out on the docks.....shoot...I'm drawing a complete blank right now. But anyway, they are going to be the only "decent" place remaining. What a shame....Oakland has really turned into a hell hole. Parts of it have always been a hell hole, but it seems to have spread city-wide now.
