At the risk of being a tad too cynical, I believe this is an annual ritual of threats---I believe the last time involved axing all of the Gilroy service----and somewhere, somehow, after all the sabers are rattled and howls of outrage are howled, things settle back and the money comes from somewhere---I note that one of the major backers of Caltrain service is Stafnurd and certainly there are some bucks hiding in those coffers of academe at the junior farm. :-)
