The display at the gun show had one of the Singer - built 1911's. Also at the same show was a flare gun made by Eureka Vacuums. These aren't that surprising to me, as sewing machines & vacuums were made primarily of stamped & machined steel parts; in much the same way that Remington made typewriters & Winchester made steel rulers & T - Squares. What surprised me is that US & S made mostly large, cast parts such as crossing gate motors, signal heads & relay cases for the civilian market; technology that doesn't usually transfer to making handguns.
