Design provides for a minimal cab, front right.
First reaction of most properties after the LA disaster was to tape-off the seats forward of the stairway in active cab cars.
Note to readers: How is each property with Bombardier bilevels handling this "item"?
San Francisco - San Jose and Sacramento- San Jose (and extensions) are full length double deckers. Are "front seats" occupied?
Chicago rapid transit cars are famous for their railfan windows and seats.

Distantly related anecdote: Once upon a time I rode a Chicago double-decker Eastbound into the City on the triple-track main (now BNSF). Standing at the center door window. Well ahead of each grade crossing, I viewed a "parting of the waters" of automobiles.
