NdeM Train # 325 from Regocio to Durango on March 11, 1997: With travel in Mexico by rail being what it was, I knew what to expect from the outset and had a high tolerance level. Not so for my female traveling companion. Everything was pretty much okay for most of the trip. Toward the end of the trip, however, the sun went down and the temperature dropped A LOT. The sole coach had open windows. Closing them would have been of no use because most of them were broken anyway. Unlike a lot of the other passengers, we didn't bring along a lot of heavy clothing. I was really wondering about the onset of hypothermia and we decided to hang out toward the front of the car, behind a wall, to minimize the blast of cold air coming into the car. We also moved around a lot to keep our blood circulating and take our minds off the fact that we were going to freeze to death. FINALLY, we arrived in Durango, headed to the hotel, and thawed out. Funny, my friend didn't ask to go on anymore Mexican train rides after that . . .
It reminded me a lot of a scene from I SPY. Fast forward to 25:45
