Oh, how the heart aches seeing this spectacular photo. September 1967. We'd just moved to Redding and I was a junior at Enterprise HS. And the McCloud River - what a great, friendly railroad, in some of the prettiest land in California. Today, there is lots of steam around, but in the 60s it was hard to find, and the first real steam engine I ever saw was the MCR 25. And I've ridden in the cab of 25 with Ray. Damn, but I want a time machine so badly.

Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful photo, Bill.
