Answers - best that I know...

1) I think the issue is simply that they don't have anymore switchers, so the GP50s and GP60s are now being used for that. BNSF has started to buy Gensets, but they don't seem to actually use them.

2) Two engines stay in Malabar Yard all the time, and they generally are the most tagged units around. I don't know why they keep them there.

3) Redondo Jct roundhouse was torn down by Amtrak when the Alameda Corridor was built. The turntable is still there, but it is 100% Amtrak. BNSF does not keep power there. They keep power at Commerce Diesel (the old Lever Bros Yard).
