It sounds like you are describing a DME grain train. I don't get to Tacoma as often as I used to, especially since the purchase of DME by Canadian Pacific in 2008, but they used to forward some of their grain trains to TEMPCO via BNSF. They had a real conglomeration of old Milwaukee
Road, BN, CNW, RI, DRGW, Luis Dreyfus, ConAgra and various other Midwest independent grain elevators C113 grain cars.
