PCC streetcar wheels

As I understand it, the wheels on PCC cars have rubber tires on the wheels with metal rims around them for electrical contact with the rail. Is there some kind of electrical brush in contact with that rim to complete the circuit between the motors and the rails? Would anyone know of a good online photo that might illustrate whatever configuration is present? Thanks for your help!
