The "easy answer" is that whenever you see a SP GP9 with the headlight in the position shown on the 3570 (and the 3567 it's couple to), it's an ex-Texas & New Orleans unit. Some related info can be found here: [www.altamontpress.com]

What gets a little complicated is that a number of the ex-T&NO units eventually received signal lights, which also caused the stationary headlight to be relocated lower.
