Yes, this is indeed the trestle over the Sutter By-pass. Butte Creek empties into the by-pass. This was called the Stolhman Trestle by the SN since the Stolhman house was located near the east end of the trestle. Stolhman's were one of the early pioneer families in this area. Just west of the trestle was Tarke, location of a wharehouse where they loaded beans in the fall. Due to weight restrictions only the SN401 or 402, SW-1's were allowed to carefully tiptoe across the trestle at 5mph. 1972 was the last year they ran out to Tarke and the tracks from Sutter to Tarke including the trestle were removed in the late 70's.
