While the Big Sky Blue scheme did not look good on the F-unts, it looked great on other locomotives such as switchers and SDP45s. I feel that both schemes looked great and I wish my 2011 Tide-Mark GN calendar had a few photos of locomotives in Big Sky Blue colors.

In the 1960s, very few railroads introduced new schemes. GN was one of the few railroads that did and was one of the only railroads with an attractive contemporary scheme.

On Trainorders, someone claimed that "Real" GN fans despise Big Sky Blue, which I thought was over the top.
