WRM also has a 40-foot wooden box car from Concord, which has been repainted into the colors of its original owner (Richmond Fredericksburg & Potomac 2289).
We had a second similar car from Concord (repainted to original Minneapolis & St. Louis 28124), which is now at the Fillmore & Western Railway, and was used in the new film "Water for Elephants."
Both cars had been retired by their original owners, and were acquired by the Navy from Hyman Michaels Company in 1944, apparently to replace cars destroyed in the July 19, 1944 explosion at Port Chicago.
