Then why did my wife love it? It was worth it, apart from the dated story line, just to see how we've all changed over the years. How easy it was to board a plane then and to catch a train from Monterey to San Francisco to shop. What about all those smartly dressed people who frequented country clubs; remember those?

Also as has been mentioned, the APL boats, Convairs at Monterey Airport and genuine SP trains no matter if they were arriving from the wrong direction, and of course the unchanging beauty of the Monterey Peninsula.
