It is great to see any kind of work progressing on the line. While there are many "nay sayer's" on this board, I beleive that the NWP, at least to Willits, is a very important addition to the infrastructure of the north bay, and to lose the potential is unthinkable. Anyone living in Sonoma/Marin counties must have their head in the sand if they think we can keep building freeway lanes to take care of our transportation needs. Smart and NWP are the obvious answers for the future.
It is good to see industry taking the rail comeback seriously. Shamrock Building Materials, a very big aggregate and construction supply company, have submitted plans for an aggregate rail off-load facility in Santa Rosa, near Todd Rd. The plans show one new siding and four long spurs for unloading gravel cars.
Thanks for the sighting and remember, "If you build it, they will come".
