Having a very good friend who is a motorman that hit a suicide jumper, and who has thus suffered recurring nightmares for years; I must say this:

Please! - Save your sympathy for the motorman on that subway car. The tagger DOES NOT deserve any.

By middle age, I would assume that most people would have noticed by now: that the laws of physics are rigid and unyielding, no matter who gets hurt. And so mother nature is no respecter of persons, and is never fooled - a penalty is always exacted whenever somebody does something stupid (that's why it's stupid folks). Do stupid = get penalty; period. And sometimes that penalty is death, whether us silly moronic know-nothing humans agree or not. And not even the all powerful U.S. Senators and presidents; or kings and empirers of the world combined, will ever change that. It is out of human hands!


But suggesting that someone, who by his own arrogant stupidity, imposed such a horrible scarring memory on another human being, deserves sympathy because he died doing it - is the very height of chutzpah! And is arrogant too! He deserves no such thing - zip - notta - nothing. Except maybe an unmarked grave, to help erase the memory of what he caused another human being to suffer.

And neither do families that pay no heed to their kids, such that they never learn how to respect their fellow citizens, or never even learn how stay alive. It' all Karma coming back to haunt them. And there is nothing any human will ever do to change that either!

In the meantime, our sympathies, our help, and our prayers belong to the motorman.
