Two predictions

Railfanning is going to change, and not for the better. In particular, I predict:

1. By 2020, it's going to be rare to find a locomotive without graffiti, as it is now rare to find a clean freight car.

2. By 2060 (and maybe a lot sooner), we're going to lose most of Cajon Pass. There will be at least vaction homes, and maybe suburbs, at Sullivan's Curve and Stein's Hill. Railfanning those spots will be much more difficult, if not impossible.
