In line with P.Kepler's slightly unusual response (and I, too, love the look of the Electroliners), the Italian EMU, "ETR 300" Il Settebello had an observation lounge at both ends, with the operator behind and above. To watch the world coming at you at speed is even better than watching it recede away!

Also, I have to agree with a poster below, that the Milwaukee Road's "Skytop" cars were sure a unique and beutiful sight (though I never have had the pleasure of seeing one in person).
