The days are definitely numbered for the California Zephyr "train" exhibit at Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim, CA. See links to photos below. Due to a total re-vamping of the theme park, the CZ exhibit does not fit in with their new "theme" and the simulated "train" will soon be history. Get your photos NOW! A portion of an ex-CN F unit, repainted in WP colors, is part of the display. The passenger cars are not authentic, but they still look pretty good and it's obvious someone did some serious research in the genuine CZ. Inside the "cars", there's an interesting mural and some other neat CZ memorabilia, including some photos by "Photo Bob" of Dunsmuir, CA. In the photo below, the latice work over the train has since been removed and the Spanish-style information booth (patterned to some extent after the Santa Fe Station in San Diego) is already gone. The CZ "train" itself will soon be junked. I wonder if any preservation efforts have been made or seriously considered by Walt Disney Company? A sad state of affairs . . .
