As others have pointed out, Sunset Jct did not exist prior to the BN merger. The NP was double track all the way from Yardley to just west of Marshall. The new 1973 bridge across Latah creek was part of the project to get rid of the old GN tracks in downtown Spokane prior to expo 74.

As to the signals, I cannot say for sure whether they, and crossovers between both main tracks, existed prior to the merger.
