I guess I'm unaware of how railroading operations and rules work too.

If the CORP abandons south of Medford, then the YW will be cutoff from the rest of the North American rail network, and so the YW will lose all their freight traffic. The YW certainly doesn't have the financial means to buy the line.

So, what aspect of operations or rules would make this not a very bad thing for the YW?
