And now SMART is joining the list of those who could put a damper on NWP freight service. Among the cost-cutting moves they are studying is discontinuance of freight service while construction is going on for their (to be overbudget and underachieving) "commuter" service, so the line doesn't have to be restored in time for freight trains to run at night.
