The only grade I know of on the Coos Bay line is going geographically east from Richardson to Vaughn. The grade crests inside tunnel #13, just west of Vaughn. The CORP actually used helpers on the rear a couple of times to help loaded trains up this grade, from Richardson to Vaughn.
