Your second post upholds what I was saying. The ability to shoot and submit an artistically and technically "perfect" image means little if the subject matter doesn't capture the attention of the viewer.

A good photograph should be memorable and evoke some sort of emotion. Photos preserve history, and events don't always lend themselves to perfect recordkeeping. Based on their criteria, the images of the construction of the CP and UP would be considered failures (Poor contrast, poor lighting, blurred subject, bla, bla, bla...)

But for those who dragged the 8X10 view cameras, glass plates and portable darkrooms into the field, we'd have no pictorial records of those epic times.

Given the opportunity to choose between a perfect shot of SD90s, or your stunning shot of the RF&P, guess which one I'd pick?

Just my opinion. Others no may no doubt feel differently.
